Today, it stands as a multi professional, research oriented, reputed and nationally recognized premier institute for its’ career oriented education. With an optimal blend of theory and practice, motive and desire, it offers 14 courses in Engineering & Technology including seven Post Graduate courses, leading to the award of B.E, B.Tech, M.E, M.Tech, MCA and MBA degrees of Anna University, Chennai. The institution’s long, dedicated, deligent and passionate expedition in education continues to contribute to nation building.

Under the able guidance and relentless support of the Founder chairman Col. Dr.R. Rangarajan, the institute focuses itself on research areas in cutting edge technologies to enable a sustainable and inclusive growth by focusing on “Future Needs” of the society. The “Research Forum” constituted for this purpose motivates the faculty, researchers and students to identify research problems and develop research proposals which are later submitted to various funding agencies. A proactive research community flourishes within the campus as a result of the efforts of its highly qualified faculty members and students. Periodical events such as International and national conferences, workshops, and other related events are organized which serve as platforms for the researchers to deliberate and exchange their ideas. Further, we also offer Junior Research facility to encourage research activities.

As the outcome of these efforts, we have been recognized as a research centre for Physics, Chemistry and EEE dept by Anna University to pursue Ph.D programme. The institution has signed 25 Memorandum of Understandings with National and International Industries and Institutions for collaborative research, joint publication, staff exchange, students’ internship etc. The continuous encouragement, support and monitory benefit from the management has resulted in more than 400 research publications. Research grant has been received from various government funding agencies like Department of Science & Technology (DST), ICMR, FAER, AICTE, CPRI, etc., VEL TECH has earned accreditation from the National Board of Accreditation, New Delhi for all the eligible degree programmes and this stands as a testimony for the high quality of technical education that the institution supports.
